Welcome to Liberty Family Counseling Services
Liberty Family Counseling was started in May 2007 in an effort to use the counseling skills that I have gained over the years to help those in my community and near-by communities.
I have raised five wonderful children in Liberty and now have six terrific grandchildren. I have been married to a wonderful man for the last 25 years who encouraged me to go back to school and so I did when my youngest was three. I completed my B.A. in Psychology at Avila University in 1995 and completed my Masters in Counseling at Webster University in 1999. Since that time I have worked in a variety of settings including Norcon Family Counseling, Tri-County Mental Health Services, St. Luke's Hospital in Smithville, Mo, and Crittenton Children's Center.
My accumulation of life experience as a wife, mother and grandmother and my education and experience in the counseling field have taught me many things about relationships, family life, and overcoming difficult life stressors. I have a variety of experiences working with children, adolescents and adults using individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy and group therapy.
I specialize in depression, anxiety, AD(H)D, grief, domestic violence, abuse or trauma among other stressful issues. We use a variety of theory and methods depending on the client(s) and the goals in mind as everyone is an individual and unique in their own way
